Wayne County, IN Sheriff's Office
The members of Explorer Post 89 are an integral part of the Wayne County Sheriff's Department. The members of the Explorer Post are a group of young adults from the ages of fourteen through twenty that are interested in a career in law enforcement.
They perform many functions throughout the year, including assisting with traffic control at major events, assisting with the Wayne County Fair, and volunteering for various public service details.
Explorer Post 89
Explorers meet on the first and third Mondays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Wayne County Sheriff's Department for planning and training.
There is a nominal cost of around $60 for the Explorer to purchase boots and a name tag for their uniform. The Post periodically has fundraisers to fund the rest of the uniform and Post activities.
